Nowadays, creating a dynamic and open environment for sharing ideas and forming a suitable platform for group work and like-mindedness between the employees of large organozations and companies in order to more and better synergy in office and even production spaces, has been highly regarded by designers.
Most organizations and departments seek to create different office spaces that, by minimizing the use of walls, separating spaces into closed individual rooms and uniform environments, create new and diverse spaces. This new strategy can be seen in reputable organizations such as Apple, Bloomberg headquarters and Hankok's R&D office. In fact, the design of the working environments of these organizations complements their visual identity. Utilizing environmental graphics while creating the necessary conditions for the realization of organizational goals, provides the right insight and cognition about these goals to clients.
On the other hand, coordination and adaptation of organizational spirit and goals between employees in an open and different environment where the emphasis on teamwork is reflected in various practical elements, is easily possible.
The interior design project of Behpardaz Samaneh Hamrah Avval Company started with this approach from the beginning of Apr. 2020 (1399) and in order to create a change in the conventional office space in this large complex. According to the knowledge of this complex and the attitude of its managers during several years of cooperation in visual identity design, The interior design of the office space was done in three separate floors with an approximate area of 1000 meters per floor.
Before entering the topics of design and study, it was very important to review the current status of the project and functional elements such as lighting, space planning, how to separate spaces, functional colors, furniture and equipment and other details. This step indicates the prioritization of the execution steps, which will indicate the need to change or remove some elements. In the studies carried out in the design of the Behpardaz Samaneh Hamrah Avval Company, the removal of walls and changes in applied colors were identified as the most important visual element in environmental graphics from the first executive measures. In my opinion, doing these two things was very effective in facilitating the relationship between the organizational elements of the company, and by repeating the organizational colors, while creating a visual identity, a correct understanding of the environment was formed in the minds of employees and clients.
In the continuation of the studies, the interior design of domestic and foreign organizations and companies active in this field was included in the agenda of the design research group, which was not ineffective in recognizing the principles, elements and practical elements in design. After formulating organizational strategies and goals and adapting them to the benchmark study findings, several important goals were considered in the design:
- Optimal use of space, creating an open environment for teamwork, reducing energy consumption, especially electricity, dynamism and vitality and diversity in space using environmental graphics.
Removing the walls and replacing the glass partitions to separate the spaces and create work rooms was the first step in the design. Although this incident was not very compatible with the morale of the staff and it seemed somewhat difficult to accept, but after the completion of the design and formation of the final form, it was considered and welcomed. Removing the walls increased the space and provided the light needed by different parts of the natural light during the day. Glass partitions were a good opportunity to absorb maximum natural light to large spaces that shine from large skylights located on floors and facades .... and .... This design allowed the use of natural light during the day and It had two important purposes; Reduction of electricity consumption was achieved by providing the required light from natural light and creating mobility and dynamism in the space and maintaining vitality in the office environment during working hours.
Because the visual identity design was done by me, the organizational colors were used in different sections and in completing the environmental graphics, according to the insight and thinking behind the choice of each color. For example, yellow is a practical color in areas such as R&D units and private meeting rooms and conferences, where mobility, dynamism, and the stimulation of the mind and the reduction of fatigue caused by long discussions and research topics are felt more than in other areas.
Repeating the yellow color in the mentioned spaces with a glossy and transparent background on the floor, walls and in combination with the white color of some walls and shades has easily achieved this goal. Also, the reflection of natural light on the yellow color, especially epoxy flooring, has significantly increased the dynamics of the mentioned spaces.
The combination of turquoise and silver colors in sections such as lobbies and meeting rooms, which are in constant contact with organizational clients, by portraying the strength and position of this comany in the minds of clients, has increased visual appeal and also invitation of mentioned sections.
The harmony of organizational colors and their repetition in furniture and interior decoration in accordance with the use of each space, is always associated the logo of the company in the minds of customers, as one of the main components of the visual identity of the collection. One of the most important bold tasks in design, which is associated with a change in attitude in the design of office spaces, is the use of materials such as epoxy. A range of vivid and vibrant colors of the logo in a completely glossy and transparent way and the reflection of limited linear lights on the ceiling and glass partitions have a great impact on the visual appeal of the environment.
To break the monotony of the design and create variety in the forms, components and elements of decoration and furniture have been selected using different geometric shapes. Repetition of circular forms in the selection of furniture in public spaces such as lobbies or rectangular forms in more private areas and meeting rooms, has led to the uniformity of form and create variety in the visual form of the space.
The use of linear lights on the ceiling and its reflection on epoxy floors and glass walls and the limited use of spot lights in certain spaces, due to the need to focus on these spaces such as information stands, has also affected the design out of uniformity. Also, in the walls that are recessed, while creating variety in the form, it creates shadows of lights that draw the clients' attention to themselves and cause a change in the structure.
In general, it can be said that the interior design of the Behpardaz Samaneh Hamrah Avval company is a deconstructive change in office spaces in my resume, which is formed by repeating linear forms with a variety of vivid and dynamic colors. Inspired by the colors of the logo, a range of vivid colors show the visual identity of this collection using much more cohesive environmental graphics and promise to be in a different and open space to share the activities behind the glass walls.
The use of modern style in the whole design, which, while simplifying and minimizing the use of various forms, has created dynamism and mobility in the space by using a variety of colors.
